Terms of Service

Welcome to The Room Log. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of theroomlog.com (the "Site"), a room-by-room home renovation diary sharing real budgets, mistakes, and lessons. By accessing or using The Room Log, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or any systems or networks

  • Post or transmit any harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content

5. Intellectual Property Rights

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, republish, download, store, or transmit any Content from The Room Log without our prior written consent, except that you may print or download one copy of a reasonable number of pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.

The Room Log name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of The Room Log. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.

6. User Content and Submissions

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE ROOM LOG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Site

  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Site

  • Any content obtained from the Site

  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

  • Any renovation projects undertaken based on information from theroomlog.com

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE ROOM LOG'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SITE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ACCESS THE SITE IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Room Log, its owner, affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Site, including but not limited to your User Content, any use of the Site's content or services other than as expressly authorized in these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

10. Termination

The Room Log may terminate or suspend your access to the Site immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Site will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the Site and, if applicable, deleting your account through the account settings.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Greenville County, South Carolina, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

You and The Room Log agree to attempt to resolve any dispute arising out of these Terms through good faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue available legal remedies.

12. Changes to Terms

The Room Log reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on theroomlog.com with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Site. The most current version of these Terms will supersede all previous versions.

13. Severability
